Jack was born in Brattleboro, Vermont on June 11, 1930. He graduated from Greenfield High School in 1948. He enlisted in the United States Navy where he met the love of his life, Enid, while both were stationed at Camp Pendleton in California. They married on December 1, 1951 and later moved back to Greenfield, MA. After a 35 year career with GTE Sylvania and a move to Windsor Locks, CT, Jack and Enid retired to Caswell Beach, NC in 1990. Jack had a deep passion for snow skiing, golf, and his family. He was an active member of the “Linksters” at the Oak Island Golf Course in Caswell Beach. His beloved wife of 63 years, Enid, passed away on August 7, 2014.
He is survived by his brother Fran Shea of Burlington, VT; five children; Teri Saren of Coral Springs, FL, Karen Wilson of Enfield, CT, Lori Plifka of Winchester, N.H., Jon Shea of East Windsor, CT, and Robert Shea of Suffield, CT. Ten grandchildren; Kimberly and Erik Saren, Tricia Antos, Erika Santiago, and Mark Wilson, Kelsey, Haley, and Garrett Plifka, and Ryan and Holly Shea; 6 great grandchildren, Kaleb, Keegan and Kendyl Antos, Ella and Jayne Wilson and Emerson Santiago.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, March 2, 2015 at Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral Home Chapel in Southport, North Carolina with Reverend Mickie Norman officiating.
