On February 14th, 2019, Jack Redmond, loving husband and father passed away peacefully at SECU Hospice House of Brunswick. Jack was the father of six children, 13 grandchildren 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Roseann Vorce Redmond, his sons, John and Richard, his daughter Rosemarie Redmond and his granddaughter, Laura Redmond Ramirez. Jack was WWII Veteran, serving in the Construction Battalion in the Philippines. He was an accomplished boxer during his war service and undergraduate studies at The Catholic University of America.
After the war, he married Roseann Vorce and went on to receive his PhD in Applied Science from Penn State University. He worked for many years as a Research Chemist and Plastics Engineer in the Maryland and Pennsylvania area. Upon retirement he moved to Boiling Spring Lakes, NC. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed local politics. Jack has countless hours on the golf course and many friends to show for it. He will be greatly missed and deeply loved.
Jack is survived by his three daughters, Regina McCarren, Cecile Logsdail (David) and Marybeth Redmond (Greg) along with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, February 17, 2019 in the Peacock - Newnam & White Funeral Home Chapel.
