James Keith "JJ" Johnson Jr.

Mr. Johnson was born December 5, 1947, son of the late James and Irmgard Johnson. He was a veteran of the US Army, having served as a medic in Vietnam. JJ was a retired machinist from General Electric in Wilmington. He enjoyed his classic cars. JJ loved the Lord, his family, and reading the Bible. Mr. Johnson taught Sunday School at Mill Creek Baptist Church and Bolivia Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Sandra Johnson; a daughter, Christa J. Thompson and husband Andrew; a grandson, Benjamin Thompson; and multiple nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dieter G. Johnson.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Bolivia Baptist Church with Reverend Chris Driggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery.
