US NAVY, retired
CAPTAIN BAILEY died on March 9, 2016 from Alzheimer’s.
He was a lifelong athlete and sportsman and wanted to say goodbye in his own words.
“This has been a wonderful life! I have had the privilege to serve our great country for over 31 years from the Mekong River Delta in Vietnam to Desert Storm (First Gulf War); I have sailed in every sea and Ocean on the planet except the Antarctic; and have had the honor to serve with the best sailors and Marines in the world. To my shipmates, Fair Winds and Following Seas…to my Marines, Semper Fi!
A man is blessed to have a loving family and faithful friends, I have been such a man. To my children, Todd, Deborah and Leigh Ann, their spouses Anita, Kevin and Jeff; to my grandchildren Ali, TJ, Brigid, Eddie, Caelan, Tyler and Molly…you have my heart and pride. To my friends, I am honored that we have shared this life together, thank you! I will miss you all! To GRACIE, my extraordinary service dog, we found each other just in time and shared a special bond.
And to my best friend, my partner in life for over 50 years, the Love of my Life, Audrey. I will be with you forever, Harry”
Our family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, aides and trainers who have been with us on this journey.
