
Born November 10, 1953 in the Bronx, New York to Doris and Anthony Tarantino, he attended Manhattan College and later graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Dr Tarantino established his private practice in Hopewell Junction where he practiced optometry for over 30 years. He most recently served the veterans at the VA Optometry Clinic in Wilmington, upon retiring to the North Carolina beaches with his wife.
Survivors include his wife Diane Tarantino of Bolivia, NC; children, Christine DeVico (husband, James) of Hopewell Junction, NY and David Tarantino (wife, Lauren) of Ridgefield, CT; stepchildren, Alexa Stanziani of Houston, TX and Steven Stanziani of Hopewell Junction, NY; brother, Joseph of New Rochelle, NY; sister Camille of Yonkers, NY; and eight grandchildren, Sophia, Annabelle, Julia, Rocco, Matthew, Nicholas, Olivia, and Dominic.
The family will receive friends from 4:00pm to 8:00pm Monday, November 20, 2017 at Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral and Cremation Service in Southport, North Carolina.
A visitation will be held on Friday November 24 at McHoul Funeral Home in Hopewell Junction, followed by a funeral mass on Saturday November 25 at Blessed Kateri in Lagrangeville.
