Chuck was born on the eleventh of January, 1946 in White Plains, NY to the late Charles and Lillian Buzzell Gambino. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Vallender.
After high school, he attended and graduated from Champlain College; then he was a business owner in North White Plains, NY for many years. Chuck was a true outdoorsman. He was an accomplished Trap and Skeet shooter, owned and operated his charter fishing boats in New York and for fifteen years he ran his boat known as “FishBuster” out of Southport, NC. He was a longtime member of the Buccaneer Gun Club. He will always be remembered for befriending mentoring numerous other sportsmen.
Surviving are his high school sweetheart and loving wife of fifty years, Linda; his adored daughter, Jill Gambino-O’Leary and husband Scott of Boiling Spring Lakes, NC; two sisters, JoAnne Lyons and LouAnne Gambino, both of North White Plains, NY; his two beloved grandchildren, Alex and Ana O’Leary who fondly called him “Pop Pop”. He is also survived by many extended family members.
You are cordially invited to a celebration of Chuck’s life on Thursday, the twenty second of February, 2018 in the Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral Service Chapel, Southport, NC. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5PM until 7:00PM Thursday at the funeral home including memories of Chuck’s life from family and friends. A celebration of life service will start at 6:30PM.
Another celebration of Chuck's life will be held on Friday, March 2. 2018, at Hillside Church, 448 Bedford Road, Armonk, NY. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday at the church, including memories of Chuck’s life from family and friends. A celebration of life service will start at 6:30 p.m.
