Carol Dinen Mastrovitch

Carol was born on 10/24/46 in Long Branch, NJ., daughter of Francis and Marie Dinen of West Long Branch, NJ., sister of Thomas Dinen of Folsom, CA and Joseph Dinen of Ocean, NJ . Carol was also survived by her husband, Anthony J. Mastrovitch of Southport, NC. They were married on 11/16/68 at St. Jerome’s Church in West Long Branch, NJ. Her surviving children are: Todd A. Mastrovitch, M.D. of Ridgewood, NJ and Lori M. Mastrovitch of Southport, NC, and her granddaughter, Ana M. Mastrovitch of Glen Rock, NJ.

Carol graduated high school from Long Branch High School, Long Branch, NJ. She retired as a GS 9 Civil Military Employee with the title of Management Analyst. She served 27 years in various civil military positions.

Carol’s true joy was being the matriarch of her family. She loved to plan family events, cook family meals, and spend time with her beloved husband, children, granddaughter and many friends. She also was a pro at golf and frequently beat her husband’s score, to his chagrin.

In 2004, Anthony and Carol retired to St. James Plantation, Southport, NC. There she enjoyed being close to the ocean, golfing, travelling, and making new close friends. Enjoying management roles, Carol was the president of the St. James Ladies Golf Association for the year 2012.

Services for Carol were on January 24, 2016 at Peacock-Newnam Funeral Home, Southport, NC. Her cremated ashes will be interned at Woodbine Cemetery, West Long Branch, NJ on February 27th, 2016.
