Mrs. Furey attended school in France and graduated from L’Ecole Technique Superiore du Laboratoire. She became a chemist and worked in France, London, and the USA.
She met her husband, Michael J. Furey during WWII. Antoinette came to the USA in April 1950 and they were married April 10, 1950 in Olean, NY, where they lived for 39 years. She worked at Vanderhorst, Conap, and AVX in Olean, NY. Mrs. Furey taught French at the University of Pittsburgh in Bradford, Pennsylvania for many years. She and her husband moved to Boiling Spring Lakes, NC in 1989.
Mrs. Furey was pre-deceased by her husband, Michael, June 2, 2020. She is survived by her daughters, Christine (Jerome) Sniatecki of Buffalo, NY, Lynn Furey of Southport, NC, and Denise (Donald) Lengvarsky of Allegany, NY; grandchildren, Jerome (Arwen) Sniatecki of Newport, PA, Marianne Sniatecki of Buffalo, NY, Alicia (Benjamin) Christian of State College, PA, and Beth (Jared) Kausner of Allegany, NY; and three great-grand-children, Donald Christian, Maeve Christian, and Margot Kausner.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 6, 2022 in the Peacock - Newnam & White Funeral and Cremation Service Chapel.
