Mrs. Nylander was born in Mount Arlington, New Jersey on August 21, 1923, daughter of the late John Thomas Traylor and Helen Faderwick Traylor. She raised her family in New Jersey where she enjoyed swimming, playing tennis, working with stained glass, and painting among other activities with her children. After the death of her husband, she moved to North Carolina to live closer to her family. She remained active working on her hobbies and gardening. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Nylander was preceded in death by her husband James Nylander, two sisters, Margaret Horne and Helen Delmo, three brothers, Frank Traylor, Edward Traylor, and John Traylor, and grandson, Gus Nylander.
Survivors include her children, Judy Bruggemann of Toms River, New Jersey, James Nylander, Jr. of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Alan Nylander of Southport, North Carolina, and Jeff Nylander of Naples, Florida; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 19, 2024 in the Peacock - Newnam & White Funeral Home Chapel.
