Born February 25, 1924 in Southington, she was the daughter of the late Emil and Stella (Piesnekewich) Klemovich.
Until this past January, Vicky was the cook at the rectory at St. Thomas for many years. She enjoyed making many wonderful dishes for the many priests that served the parish. In 1986 she retired from her position as secretary from St. Thomas Church and School.
She along with her late husband John took care of the grounds of Mary Our Queen Church until 1986.
She was a member of the St. Thomas Ladies Guild, the Lap Robe Ministries, Catholic Golden Age, the AARP and the Calendar House. Vicky was an avid New York Yankees fan, she loved to watch the UCONN Huskies with her grandson Brandt, bird watching, sewing, quilting, vacationing in Manchester, VT with family and friends, eating out with her best friend Lois Aldi, but most off all she loved watching her grandchildren grow up and being very involved in their lives.
She is survived by her two sons, John A. Nigro Jr. and wife Gwen of Angola, IN and Thomas J. Nigro of Bristol; two sisters, Susan Flores of Milldale and Antoinette Edwards of Southington, eight grandchildren, Brandt and Morgan Nigro both of Bristol, Wendy Kellermeier, Jonathan Gregg, Wendy Coleman, Matt Nigro and Zachery Nigro all of IN and Dan Nigro and wife Dottie of CO; three great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and Beth Ozkan, a close friend and former daughter-in-law. She was predeceased by a son Robert Nigro and two brothers Charles and Joseph Klemovich.
The funeral will be held on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 10:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington to St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St. for a mass at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. Donations in memory of Vicky may be made to St. Thomas School, 99 Bristol St., Southington, CT 06489.
