Salvatore “Sal” Ciccio Jr., 82, of Southington, beloved husband of Marilyn (Anderson) Ciccio, passed away at home on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. “Sal” as he was known by his family and friends, was born on April 22, 1940 in Southington and was the son of the late Salvatore S. Ciccio Sr. and Lucy (DeMarco) Ciccio. Sal was employed by the Consolidated Industries Company and retired from that company. He was also a member of The Teamsters Local 667 of Waterbury, where he was also a shop steward. Sal was also the Executive Manager of The Bell City Rifle Range in Southington and most recently before his illness, he was a crossing guard at Southington high School. An avid outdoorsman, you could always find Sal fishing, camping and shooting in tournaments. He also loved to play cards and most of all, he loved to spend time with his family. Besides his wife Marilyn whom he was married to for over 52 years, he is survived by his three children, Salvatore S. Ciccio III of Southington, Christopher Raymond Ciccio Sr. and his girlfriend June Cote of Southington, and Raymond Francis Ciccio and his girlfriend Ronda Ann Galton of Waterbury. He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren, Christopher Jr., Joshua, T.J., Ashley, Marissa and Sarah. And several great grandchildren. Sal was predeceased by his daughter, Mary Lucille Ciccio and by his sister, Concetta Kalinowski. Calling hours for Sal will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington, CT 06489. A funeral home service will be at 6:30 PM in the funeral home. Burial will be private.
