Robert "Bobby" Wheeler

Robert R. Wheeler, 80, of Southington, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut after a brief illness. “Bobby” as he was known to his friends and family, was born on November 26, 1942 in Bristol and was the son of the late Albert and Louise (DePaulo) Wheeler. Bobby was predeceased by two sisters Nettie “Ruth” McIntyre, Dorothy Michaud and a brother James Wheeler. He leaves behind his sister, Patricia Bradley of Port Saint Lucie, Fl. In addition to many nieces and nephews: Dee (McIntyre) Ahern, Paula (Bradley) Moore and Kaila (Michaud) Lajoie, Richard McIntyre, Jeffrey McIntyre, Gary McIntyre, Jason Bradley and Joshua Gerwatowski. He also had many grandnephews and grandnieces that loved him dearly. Bobby was a retired machine operator. He loved to bowl, fish, work on cars, watch Nascar and many other sports. However, Bobby will forever be remembered for his gardening techniques which everyone in the neighborhood envied. He was a great friend and neighbor who will be truly missed. Calling hours for Bobby will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington, CT 06489. A funeral home service will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Lake Avenue Cemetery in Bristol.
