Robert M. Marchetti, 84 of Southington and formally of Danbury, husband of the late Marita ( Cahill ) Marchetti, passed away peacefully on August 9th, 2021. Born September 4th 1936 in Bridgeport he was the son of Christopher and Lucy Marchetti of Danbury. After high school he joined the United States Marine Corps where he served on the silent drill team, joined the boxing program, and held the highest security clearances, he loved his service and experience. After the Marine Corps he worked with his father in the hatting industry, worked at Amphenol, and joined Gilbert & Bennett in Georgetown, CT where he was employed for over 25 years. Robert was also a State of Connecticut Licensed Security Officer for many years working at Boehringer Ingelheim where he was a site Lieutenant. Even after retirement he continued to do security work at Bradley Hospital in Southington. He was a Special Licensee with the Connecticut State Police for many years as well. Robert was also a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge #1373 in Danbury where he held the office of Treasurer. In his leisure time, Robert was an avid reader of murder mysteries, spent as much time with his two sons teaching them to hunt, and eventually spending time with his two grandsons Christopher and Matthew. Robert is survived by his two sons and their wives, Joseph and his wife Amy of Bristol and David and his wife Lynn of Danbury. His two Grandchildren Christopher and Matthew, both of Bristol., predeceased by his two sisters Arline Gassner of Danbury, and Patricia Joyce of Bethel, Survived by brother in laws Charles Fadus of Newtown and Paul Gassner of Danbury, and many nieces and nephews.
