Robert “Bob” J. Beal, 70, of Cheshire, husband of Debra (Abbott) Beal, passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021 at Yale New Haven Hospital following a brief illness. Robert was born in Milford, CT on April 6, 1951 and was the son of the late Wallace Sr. and Mary (Abidor) Beal. For many years, “Bob” was employed by Fetzer Tire in Southport, where he retired from. He also was a member of the Nutmeg Kart Club of Shelton where he held several positions. “Bob” was a devout New England Patriots Fan and had season tickets for the past forty years. In his leisure time, you could find him fishing at his favorite watering spot, kayaking on the river or camping at his favorite campground. Bob was a true family man and twenty years ago, this saying was very true. His wife Debra at that time needed a kidney. Bob went and got tested and for sure enough he was a perfect match. Without hesitation, he donated one of his kidneys to his wife and saved her life, allowing them to be together as a family for another twenty years. Besides his wife Debra, He is survived by his daughter Tamara Voisine and her husband Josh of Cheshire. He was also “granddaddy” to his beloved granddaughter Morgan Voisine also of Cheshire. Bob is survived by his siblings, Wallace Beal Jr. and his wife Joan of Stratford, Gerard Abidor and his wife Priscilla of Trumbull, Barry Abidor and his wife Mercy of Las Vegas, Betty Lou Barnett and her husband James of Stratford, Diana Beal of Stratford, Jenna Schaffer and her partner John Nemeth of North Carolina, Anne “Sonny” Cruite of Florida, his sister in law Sherry Hiller of Beardon, AR., and by several nieces and nephews as well as many close friends. He was predeceased by his brother Harold “Butch” Davidson. Calling hours for Robert will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 4pm to 7 pm at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington, CT 06489. There will be no services or burial at this time.
