Ralph V. Nardi Sr., 88, of Southington, beloved husband of the late Sarah Nardi, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 2, 2022 at Jerome Home in New Britain. He was born to the late Alfred and Josephine (DiDominico) Nardi on January 13, 1934, in Hamden. Ralph proudly served our country in the Army, stationed in Germany. After his honorable discharge in 1958, he and Sarah married in 1959 and had 59 wonderful years together, which included spoiling their beloved dog, Casey Dan. He retired from Zurich Insurance as a Commercial Underwriter. He was an enthusiastic fan of the Yankees and the Giants. During his retirement, he enjoyed puttering around the garden, feeding the birds, and listening to audiobooks. His biggest joy in life was spending time with his family whom he always put first. Ralph was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus serving in multiple positions throughout his membership. More recently he took up painting, and he loved spending time at the Calendar House with all his friends. He will be remembered for his optimistic and supportive nature, sense of humor, and ability to listen and give advice. Ralph impacted so many people throughout his life. Ralph leaves three children: Ralph Nardi Jr. and his wife Kimberly of Wallingford, David Nardi and his wife Charlene of Massachusetts, and Marianne Mastriano and her husband Stephen of Meriden; grandchildren: Samantha, Taylor and her husband, CJ, Jessica and her fiancé, Jeffrey, Michelle, Anthony, Stephen and his wife, Kristin, and Alexander; great-grandchildren: Stephen, Jason and Hudson; a brother: Joseph Nardi of Cheshire; sisters: Gregoria Halley of Florida, Josephine Goulet and her husband Joseph of Southington, and Francis Nardi of West Haven. Ralph was predeceased by two brothers: Gabriel and Alfred Nardi. A Mass of Christian Burial for Ralph will be held on Monday, March 7, 2022 at 9:15 AM from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington, CT 06489 and at 10:00 AM in Mary Our Queen Church, 248 Savage St. Plantsville, CT 06487. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery.
