Mary Isabel Pasciutti, 93, of Southington, CT, passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021, at the Cheshire Regional Rehabilitation Center. She is predeceased by her husband, Edward R. Pasciutti, with whom she shared 45 years of marriage. She is survived by her children, Edward, Joseph (Donna), Catherine Elliott (Joe), and grandchildren, Kyle and Katrina.
She was born in Washington D.C., the youngest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Pollock. She and her sister, Catherine Ann, were raised in the Washington DC and New York areas.
Before marriage, Mary was employed by the U.S. Department of State in the Foreign Service group, and earlier, in the office which would come to be known as the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. Later, she and Ed raised their children in Beltsville, MD, and took the family on many camping trips through the years. Mary was a long-term member of St. Joseph Church, Beltsville, and a daily communicant. In addition, she volunteered at St. Joseph elementary and DeMatha Catholic high schools. After initially retiring in MD, she and her husband moved to CT in 2002 to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Mary was a long-time member of the team that managed weekly church offertory at St. Dominic Church, Southington. Later, she became a member of St. Thomas Church, Southington, where her children were members. A dedicated mother and grandmother, she was warm, humorous, and hospitable. Mary was an avid walker, known to cover many of the streets of her neighborhood in Spring Lake Village.
Friends will be received at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St, Southington, CT, on Thursday, April 29, 2021, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St, Southington. Interment will follow at 12noon in the CT State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown. Flowers are appreciated, or contributions to the Catholic Charities can also be made in Mary’s memory.
