Mary (Kelly) McMahon, 91, of Southington, beloved widow of the late James J. McMahon Sr., passed away in the comfort of her home on Saturday morning, October 8, 2022 with her family surrounding her. When she arrived in Heaven, her husband James and son Michael were there to greet her. Mary was a true “Jersey Girl”, born in Jersey City, NJ on May 10, 1931. She was the daughter of the late John and May (Halprin) Kelly. She was a communicant of St. Dominic’s Church and lifetime Emblem Member of B.P.O.E. Lodge No. 1669 of Southington, in which Mary donated countless hours helping those in need. Some of her favorite past times include, cheering for the Dallas Cowboys, the New York Yankees, and the UCONN Women’s basketball team. She also loved to swim at the Southington Y, watch the television shows The Golden Girls and the Hallmark Channel during the holidays. Mary is survived by her children; her sons Robert McMahon and his wife Mary of Florida and James J. McMahon of CT, and also by her daughter, Kathleen McMahon of Southington, with whom she made her home with. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Christopher McMahon of Maine, Robert McMahon of Colorado, Noelle Beebe and her husband Dane of Nevada, Melissa McMahon of New Britain, Sarah McMahon of TN, and Lauren Grobbelaar and her husband William of Winsor, and by her great granddaughter Hannah Beebe of Nevada. She is also survived by her daughter in law Kristi McMahon. Mary was predeceased by her son Michael McMahon and also by her brother John Kelly. A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022 at 11:00 AM in St. Dominic’s Church, 1050 Flanders Rd, Southington, CT 06489. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband James. Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington, CT 06489 prior to the mass.
