Mary Annunziata

Mary (Verderame) Annunziata, 78, of West Haven, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013 surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer?s. She was the wife of the late Andrew F. Annunziata Sr.

She was born in Southington on Feb. 14, 1935, the daughter of the late Carl and Jennie (DellaVecchia) Verderame. She graduated from Southington High School and the Laurel School of Business and was employed by the city of West Haven as the assistant to the Director of Public Works.

Mary was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and dear friend.

She is survived by her children MaryAnn Mele of Wallingford and Andrew F. Annunziata Jr. and his wife Clara of Southington and, 5 grandchildren, Jason Mele, Christopher Mele, Andrew F. Annunziata III, Dominic Annunziata and Joshua Burby. She also leaves 2 brothers Francis Verderame Sr. and wife Annemae, Carl Verderame Jr. and wife Gail, 2 sisters, Madeline Brunelli and Lucille Cusano and husband Robert all of Southington and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother-in-law Paul Brunelli.

The family would like to thank the dedicated caregivers and staff at the Village @ Kensington Place and the VITAS Hospice team for their loving care and concern.

The Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St. Southington. Calling hours will be on Tuesday morning from 8:30 am-10:30 am at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington. Burial will be private at St. Lawrence Cemetery in West Haven.
