Mary Anne Louise (Ogorzalek) Sullivan, 87, of Meriden, formerly of Southington, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Midstate Medical Center. Mary Anne was the beloved widow of David “Sully” Sullivan who passed away in 2006. She was born in Middletown on May 20, 1935 and was the daughter of the late Frank and Julia (Czaja) Ogorzalek. Mary Anne attended Middletown schools and was a 1953 graduate of Woodrow Wilson H.S. of Middletown. She married David in 1961 and raised four successful children. She retired as an executive secretary from Aetna after several other previous employers. Mary Anne was a dedicated member of the Southington Festival Chorale and the Connecticut Opera Association. She was also a member of the former St. Thomas Church of Southington. Mary Anne was an accomplished opera singer who loved to entertain people with her angelic voice. She absolutely loved the arts and theater especially seeing performances at the Goodspeed Opera House and The Bushnell Performing Arts Center. Some of Mary Anne’s favorite pastimes include painting, writing, reading a good book, toiling in her garden and cooking delicious meals for her family. Mary Anne found peace and tranquility vacationing on the coastline of Maine where she visited every August. Mary Anne is survived by her four children, Kenneth Sullivan and his wife Crystal of Plantsville, Kathleen Mikulak and her husband Leonard of Plainville, James Sullivan of Southington, and Marlene Carbone and her husband David of Plantsville. She was grandmother to Shannon Niatopsky and her husband Alex of Wolcott, Peter Mikulak of East Hampton, Lauren Mikulak and her fiancé Tom Yardito of Bethlehem, Erica Mikulak of Plainville, Vincent Carbone of Plantsville, William Carbone of Boston and Jacqueline Carbone also of Boston and great-granddaughter Eva Niatopsky of Wolcott. She is also survived by her brother William Ogorzalek and his wife Donna of Henderson, NV and their children, Julie, Matthew, Monica and Jennifer. The family would like to thank the staff at CT Baptist Home in Meriden, CT for the outstanding care given to Mary Anne in the last 3 1/2 years. A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Anne will be held on Monday, December 12, 2022 at 8:15 AM from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington, CT 06489 and at 9:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 130 Summer St. Southington, CT 06489. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
