Marie C. Houser

Marie was born on October 26, 1913 in NJ, daughter of the late Charles and Ann (Savage) Dunbar. Marie was formerly of Port Charlotte, FL and Brick Town, NJ. Marie, a longtime resident of Southington Care Center, was an avid reader, dancer, crossword puzzle player, pinochle player and loved the big bands. During World War II, Marie worked at the Jacksonville Naval Air Station repairing Norton Bomb Sights

     Besides her husband, Marie was predeceased by her two eldest sons, Herbert Denning of Brick Town, NJ and Ronald Houser of West Milford, NJ. Marie is survived by her son, Harry William Houser and his wife Cindy of Coventry, CT, her son, Dr. Richard Houser and his wife Maria of Marion, CT, her daughter, Susan Leahy of Jackson, NJ, and her daughters-in-law, Marilyn Denning of Waretown, NJ and Glenda Houser of West Milford, NJ. Marie has 22 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 AM on Thursday, February 7, 2008 at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 211 N. Main St. Southington. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 PM.

Burial will be private.
