Margaret Kazimiera (Rogozinski) Burgio, 78, of Plainville, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022 at home with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Salvatore Burgio. She was born in Strzelno Poland on May 26, 1943 the daughter of the late Jozef and Rozalia (Puzio) Rogozinski
She enjoyed listening to James Patterson and Patricia Cornwell audio books, as well as profiling criminals on real-life mystery shows. She loved to capture moments and make video collages of her children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful chef, priding herself in Authentic Polish and Italian cuisine using only the finest organic ingredients. She was a student of knowledge and would continually expand her vocabulary and educate herself on history and historical events and scientific facts. A self-proclaimed bohemian fashionista, she loved to dress with wild and bold colors and clothes. It was not uncommon to see Margaret decked out with layers of clothes, fancy hats and angel and fairy themed outfits. She was very proud of her home town Szczecin and had wonderful adventures and memories that she would share often with family and friends. She enjoyed spending time in her backyard, sipping coffee, and gazing upon her garden, trees and bushes. To know her, was to love her.
In addition to her husband She is survived by her children Steven Burgio of FL, Jerry Burgio and wife Melissa, Carlo Burgio and wife Abigail of Newington, Gino Burgio of Bristol and Maria Burgio-Sanchez also of Bristol, her cherished grandchildren Victoria Yost, Ashliany Burgio, Brianna Burgio-Tomlinson and Katia Burgio and great-grandchildren Vivianna Abbate and Amelio Sanchez as well as a brother Walter Rogozinski and wife Honorata of New Britain.
She was predeceased by a daughter Linda Burgio, brother Bruno Koziara and sister Monica Scigany.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday March 18th at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Plainville. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in New Britain. Calling hours will be on Friday morning from 8-10 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington.
