Luigi Volpe

He was born on Sept. 1, 1937, in Amorosi, Italy, the son of the late Guido and Elvira (Merola) Volpe. Prior to his retirement he was employed by GE in Plainville for 30 years.

He is survived by a son Guido and wife Marisa Volpe, a grand -daughter Gianna Ines Volpe all of Chicago, IL, his longtime and special companion Teresa Pulcini of Berlin, three brothers,Attilio and wife Beatrice Volpe, Bruno and wife Maria Volpe all of Southington, and Placido and wife Antonella of Amorosi, Italy, 3 sisters, Fiorentina and husband Giovanni Rossi of Australia, Anna and Vincent Iacobucci of Southington and Edvige and husband Eligio Ferrucci of Cheshire and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Alzheimer's Resource Center for their loving care and concern.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 11 am at St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St. Southington, Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Tuesday morning at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. from 8:30-10:30 am
