Southington- Lucille “Lu” Bouffard, 93, died peacefully on Thursday after a brief illness. She was born in May Pond, Vermont; the oldest of four children to Eva and Albert Blair. She loved spending time with her sisters, Yvette Cyr and Pauline Telford, and doted on her baby brother, Raymond Blair. Lu attended Waterbury Catholic High School and worked at Scovill Manufacturing where she met her late husband, Elmer, of 55 years. They had three boys; Gary, David and Richard (who predeceased her). Lu worked at Mattatuck Manufacturing until her retirement and then the adventures began as she and her husband, Elmer, spent many months traveling the country in their motor home.
Lu moved to Raleigh, North Carolina and enjoyed her time there making many new friends until moving back to Connecticut in 2018. She loved playing cards, making puzzles and decorating. She looked forward to spending time in Vermont with her sisters, Pauline and Yvette, as there was always an abundance of laughter and family.
Lu leaves her sons; Gary Bouffard and his wife Diane, David Bouffard and his wife Lynne; along with grandchildren; Kirsten Bouffard, Ryan (Traci) Bouffard, Jennifer Peters and Jonathon (Alexandra) Bouffard; great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends. “Memere,” we will see you on the other side of the stars. In lieu of flowers, please send your donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Funeral will be Monday, March 16, 2020, beginning at 9:15 am at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 211 N. Main St. Southington to St. Aloysius Church for a Mass at 10 am. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Sunday, March 15th from 5 to 7 pm.
