He was born in Meriden on August 12, 1954 the son of the late Gerald T. and Delia B. (Rush) Cosgrove. He attended Southington Schools and graduated from SHS in 1972.
He lead a very adventurous life. His love of the sea was always apparent. He was a deep sea diver on off shore oil rigs, off the coasts of Louisiana and Texas. He also worked on an oil rig off the coast of Scotland in the North Sea. He worked on fishing boats out of Gloucester, MA and he knew some of the people involved with ?the perfect storm?. He also worked out of Alaska on crab fishing boats as represented in the show ?The Deadliest Catch?. His later adventures involved being a crew member on various boats in Hawaii.
Kevin was an avid reader and loved history and science. He had studied metallurgy and chemistry, but was always drawn back to the sea.
He is survived by a sister, Geraldine M. Cosgrove Reynolds and her husband Daniel E. Reynolds III, of Marion, a brother Daniel J. Cosgrove of Chloe, WV, nieces and nephews, Daniel E. Reynolds IV, Colleen B. Reynolds both of Marion, Jessica and Nathan Cosgrove of West Virginia.
Services will be held on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4-7 p.m.
