WOLCOTT- Judith “Judy” A. (Mulligan) (Adamek) Rosenthal,79, of Lauderhill, Florida formerly of Wolcott, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017 at the home of her daughter in Woodbury surrounded by members of her loving family.

She was born on April 9, 1938 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Alma Reichenbach Fitzpatrick and George E. Mulligan. Judy was married to the late Donald Adamek and the late Sidney Rosenthal with whom she moved to Lauderhill FL for retirement.

Judy is survived by her children, Sheila Cesare of Waterbury, Carol Mazzucco and husband Dr. John Mazzucco of Woodbury, Lisa Martin and husband David Martin of Middlebury, Steven Rosenthal and wife Dr. Andrea Bayer of West Palm Beach FL, and Donald Adamek of Waterbury. She also leaves her eight loving grandchildren, Brian Adamek, Katelyn and Alyssa Mazzucco, Alexander and Kyle Martin, Rochelle and Victoria Rosenthal and Adam Rosenthal and wife Colleen. Judy adored her grandchildren and was very active in all of their lives. She is also survived by her only sibling, Carol M. Plantier and husband Richard along with multiple nieces, nephews and cousins.

While growing up in Bunker Hill, she was a member of the St. Joseph's Fife and Drum Corps in Waterbury and spent summers down at the Milford shore. Judy was an avid reader and shopper who loved animals including her horse, Pretty Boy, her poodles and her beloved Sammy. She was active in the Democratic Party in Wolcott and was the Democratic Registrar of Voters, succeeding her father. Judy graduated from Crosby High School and Waterbury Hospital School of Nursing and worked at the hospital for 30 years, as a nurse in the Emergency Room and One Day Surgery, retiring in 1999. Judy was a very kind, loving, caring and generous, person which is what made her such a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and most of all a nurse. While in Florida, Judy held the positions of Treasurer and Secretary of High Greens of Inverrary Condominium Association in Lauderhill and was loved by many of her neighbors and friends. Judy and Sidney enjoyed traveling the world, visiting many countries, as well as traveling across the United States. In addition to her vacationing, she enjoyed and kept up with technology; always connected and staying in touch through social medias. While she loved her life in Florida she returned home to CT keeping in touch with her CT friends during the summer months.

The family would like to thank all of her many caregivers. A Mass to celebrate her life will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, June 28, at St. Pius X Church 525 Woodtick Rd in Wolcott followed by burial of her cremains in New Pine Grove Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The DellaVecchia Funeral Home in Wolcott has been entrusted with her arrangements.
