Joan (Williams) Savio, 84, of Southington, loving wife of the late Robert Savio, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. Joan was born in Hartford on April 6, 1940 to the late James and Bridget (Begley) Williams.
Joan and her late husband were the owners and operators of the Plainville Dairy Queen until their retirement in 1995. Joan found light and humor in every aspect of life. She was an avid reader and truly enjoyed her time bowling with the Farmington Ladies League at Lessard Lanes. She loved to take walks, visit the CT shoreline, go to the theater, and volunteer at the Southington Public Library. Her zest for life will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Joan is survived by her four children, Christine Savio, Susan (Gregory) Bradley, Amanda Savio and Robert Savio. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Dustin, Lauren, Samantha and Jane, as well as her great-grandchildren Greyson and Landon. She was preceded in death by her sister Mary Packenham.
A visitation will be held Friday, November 15, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Southington, CT 06489. A Mass of Christian burial will occur Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 9:00 AM at The Church of St. Dominic, 1050 Flanders Rd, Southington, CT 06489. All those wishing to attend Mass are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington.
