Guy N. Beaudoin

On Monday, October 31, 2022 while surrounded by his wife Monique (Begin) and loving Family, he passed away peacefully. Guy was born on May 5, 1945 in the small town of St. Ludger, Quebec, Canada. He was the son of the late Gerard and Candide (LaChance) Beaudoin.

Besides his loving wife of 55 years, Guy is survived by his three sons: Regis Beaudoin and his wife Cathy of Terryville, Jerry Beaudoin and his wife Kimberly of Southington, and James Beaudoin and his wife Kelly of Avon. He was an adoring “Poppie” to his grandchildren Samantha, Sarah, Kamron, Konner, Jordan, Juliana, Kaden, and Kyler as well as his great-granddaughter Olivia. He is also survived by three brothers and two sisters: Michel and his wife Jeannine of Quebec, Normand and his wife Lise of New Brunswick, Charles and his wife Suzanne of Quebec, Louise Begin and her husband Marc of Quebec, Jocelyne Nadeau and her husband Regis of Quebec, and by a sister-in-law, Armande Beaudoin of Bristol. Guy was predeceased by his brother, Roger. Guy emigrated from Canada to the United States in 1966 with his new bride in hopes of being able to provide a better life for his future. He immediately took up construction trades and began operating heavy equipment. His work soon became synonymous with perfection, with the mindset he passed onto his kids and co-workers of "if you're not going to do it right, don't do it at all!". Constant hard work and sacrifice became a consistent theme of his life, and it is a large part of his legacy and what he stood for. He proudly became a United States citizen in August of 1993.

From home building, tennis court design and construction, to truck driving, it seemed no one ever worked harder than him. He took such pride in a job well done, and it forced those around him to be better at what they did. He was known affectionately known to many friends and co-workers as "Pops", and when you came to work you needed to be ready to do it right and have pride in the process, and end result. He loved to teach others by doing things. He didn't always have the right words with the language barrier, but he always left his mark by showing people the way. He was so passionate about his work and making sure things were done right. He never gave up, no matter how big the obstacles and challenges were. He truly was the best of the best.

Calling hours for Guy will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington, CT 06489. There will be a Celebration of Life event at a later date to be announced by the Family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hole In the Wall Gang Camp, 565 Ashford Center Rd, Ashford, CT 06278.
