Born on November 6, 1928, to Daniel and Hazel (Mann) Bordash, Gloria grew up in Meriden, Connecticut. She began nursing school with a dream of helping others but set aside her studies to build a family after meeting Nelson, the love of her life.
A devoted homemaker and mother, Gloria raised six children in Southington. Her selflessness and sacrifices became the foundation of strength and love that continues to unite her family today.
Later in life, Gloria brought her warmth and tireless work ethic to the family seafood market, where she enjoyed connecting with customers and contributing to its daily operations. Gloria also found joy in gardening, baking, and watercolor painting. Her artistic pursuits led to memorable trips to France with her sisters, where she refined her craft and created lasting memories.
Gloria is survived by five children: son Nelson and his wife Kathy; son Gregory and his wife Susan; son Angelo and his wife Deborah; daughter Lynne; and son Daniel. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, her sister Marion Gravel, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Nelson, her daughter Denise Kowal, and her sister Shirley Weaver.
