Frederick “Budsy” W. Anderson, 100, of Southington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Ledgecrest Health Care of Berlin after a brief illness. Frederick was born on March 31, 1921 in Southington and was the son of the late Herbert E. and Josephine (Kelley) Anderson. “Budsy”, as he was known to his family and friends, was a retired teacher of chemistry, physics and mathematics and had taught at North Haven High School, Gateway Community College and Naugatuck Valley Community College. Frederick was a proud veteran of WWII, serving in the South Pacific Theater with the PT Squadron Motor Torpedo Base #2. He was a long time member of the American Legion Kiltonic Post #72 of Southington and a parishioner of St. Aloysius Church. In his leisure time, “Budsy” loved to paint and spend time with his family. Frederick is survived by several nieces and nephews who cared for and loved him deeply. He is survived by his dear friends Ray and Bonnie Callagham and their children, Cassie, Sarah and Samantha whom he adored. Frederick was predeceased by his siblings, Harold, Earl, Walter, Erwin, Charles, Florence and Dorothy. He was also predeceased by his special Beryl Ballou. A Mass of Christian
Burial for “Budsy” will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 9:00 AM from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington, CT 06489, with a 10:00 AM at St. Dominic’s Church, 1050 Flanders Rd. Southington, CT 06489. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family on Monday, December 27, 2021 from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.
