

Born in Waterbury on December 5, 1927, he was the son of the late Stuart and Alma (Whitehead) Dilger. He served in both the US Navy and Army during WWII and was a retired employee of the US Postal Service in Waterbury. He was fan of the Boston Red Sox and Patriots and enjoyed horse races at Saratoga.
He was the father of Robert and his wife Gloria of Morgantown, WV, Scott Dilger and his partner Laurie Monroe of Wolcott, David Dilger and his wife Christine of Wolcott, Michael Dilger and his wife Lisa of Terryville. He also leaves grandchildren Anne Dore and her husband Gordon III, Alex Dilger, Amy Dilger and her partner Matt, David Dilger Jr., Christopher Suprenant, Brandon Dilger, Eric Dilger, and great grandchildren, Kate, Lucy, Ariana, Breanna and Jayden, a brother Raymond and his wife Connie Dilger of Waterbury and a sister Marilyn Dunn of Wolcott. He was predeceased by brothers Stuart and Lloyd Dilger, sisters Althea Levasseur and Lois Smith.

Graveside Services with military honors will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 11 AM at Edgewood Cemetery 389 Boundline Rd in Wolcott. There are no calling hours.
