Charles Stanley Borysewicz, 89, of Wolcott, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at the Pines at Bristol, after a short illness. Charlie was born in Southington on December 31, 1932 and was the son of the late John and Frances (Malinowski) Borysewicz. He was raised on a farm and always loved animals, especially his best friend, Buster. He attended the former West Street School, Lewis Mills School, UCONN and CCSU. Charlie was a member of the track team and the 1950 Lewis Mills State Championship football team. He was a Korean War veteran serving in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. Some of his many memberships include BPOE Lodge # 1669 of Southington, Sons of Italy, American Legion and the Wolcott VFW Post 1979. He also served as a Southington Constable for 8 years. He loved flying and held both commercial, multi engine and instrument ratings. He was a proud member of the Quiet Birdmen, Hartford Hanger, for over 36 years, attending over a dozen governor’s conferences all over the country. Charlie worked for SNET (AT&T) for 36 years, starting as a lineman and retiring in 1991 as a PBX Supervisor. Charlie is survived by his nieces and nephews, Frances Kiernan and her husband Ed, Stan Borysewicz and his wife Kelly, Tony Cifone, Pat Borysewicz, and his special friend June Kupfer, four great nieces and nephews and 5 great-great nieces and nephews. Charlie was predeceased by his siblings, his brothers, Tony, Joe and Stanley Borysewicz, his sister, Ann (Borysewicz) Cifone, and also Irene and Joe Borysewicz and Florence Chancellor. A Mass of Chiristian burial for Charlie will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 9:15 AM from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington, CT 06489 and at 10:00 AM in Immaculate Conception Church, 130 Summer St., Southington, CT 064879. Burial with military honors will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Calling hours for Charlie will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Charlie’s memory may be made to the CT Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd., Newington, CT 06111.
