Caroline (Miller) Covaleski, 83, of Bristol, formerly of Southington, beloved widow of the late James Covaleski, passed away on July 10, 2023, at St. Mary Home in West Hartford. She was born to the late Charles and Pearl (Curtiss) Miller on February 19, 1940. Caroline graduated from St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1960. She loved her job as a registered nurse, working for nearly 50 years in Meriden and Southington. Caroline lived for her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. You could always find her in the audience of a band concert, a graduation, or on the sidelines of a sporting event. She was the greatest cheerleader. Caroline enjoyed visiting the beach, painting, puzzles, knitting, and cooking and baking for her family.
Caroline is survived by her three daughters: Amy Ahern of Wallingford, Paula Brown of Bristol, and Laura Brelsford and her husband Bryon of Bristol; seven grandchildren: Collin, Kaitlin and Megan Ahern, Christopher and Andrew Brown, and Sarah and Matthew Brelsford. In addition to her husband, James, she was predeceased by her granddaughter and namesake: Caroline Jamie Brown.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 14th at 10 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, Bee St. Meriden. Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to St. Jude’s or the ASPCA.
