May this be the year we all become family again.  So many of us don't even talk to each other ( yet we claim to be Christians) because of petty disagreements.  We are told to forgive one another yet we don't,  it's time we do. May this be the Christmas and year we reach out to one another. First house we lived in in Norwalk California, corner of Leffingwell Rd and Leibacher Ave. ( Present day picture) we lived there from 1950 to about 1956 then moved to Westminster CA and then back to Connecticut in 1958.

Bram, you are :100:% real. Carol loved you so very much. She would always tell me about you and how she loved you and how much you helped her. The few times I talked to you on the phone I could tell you were very smart and had a fantastic heart. Thank you for all you did for Carol.

I guess my first real memories of my sister were from Norwalk,
California, I would go down to a riverbed with school shoes on
with leather soles looking for lizards and couldn't get back out
( I never learned, so many times I did it) but Carol would tell
Mom & Dad she knew where I was and put her sneakers on
and come and rescue me. That was Carol, always there for
everyone. Her Faith was so very strong, we would talk for hours
and share our thoughts on what passages in the Bible meant &
it made us so much more aware by sharing. 

My daughter Regina & son Guy loved Carol so very much they
would go in her room and she would put on cartoons for them
and answer their thousands of questions, put on the Discovery
Channel and explain what was on and what they were talking about
on the program. Carol loved children with all her heart. When we first 
moved back to Connecticut I remember cousin Janice asking us
( Carol, Babe and I ) if we wanted to ride sleds down Willow St.,
( about 3 miles I guess downhill) and off we went, when we got to
the bottom of Willow St. and West Main we then realized we had to
walk back up and carry our sleds, once back up to the top of Willow
St. cousin Janice asked us if we wanted to go again!!!! Carol, Babe
and I just looked at each other and declined the offer :) . I could 
write a book on here growing up with Mom, Dad, Carol, Babe, Debbie
and all Family. I love Carol so very much and Miss her so very much. 
We have been miles apart for about 16 years, but even though so far 
apart and talking on the phone not very often she was and is always in my heart.

I hope the beautiful flowers that you ordered do get there on time. You are so precious. Thank you Chrissy.

I dont know where to start. Aunt Carol held a very special place in my heart. She got me through some of the darkest times in my life even if we were miles apart. She was someone that I always knew would be there for me. If she felt I was being left back in the shadows she was the one person that would speak up for me. I could confide in her and knew all of my secrets were safe with her. She loved unconditionally and I loved her the same way. We always had a bond, more like a mother daughter kind of bond. She always included my sister and I in all family functions. She was truly a child of our Lord. Her faith in him never wavered. I will miss her smile, her kind and always true words, her silly side and her hugs. I loved her with all my heart and life will never be the same without her.

Bram, No matter what she was doing or who she was talking to she would stop everything when you called. I know how much you adored her. You were her shadow. All of our talks in your aunt Linda's hallway. But I'm happy that you learned from her. We all learned so much from her. She wasn't just your grandmother, she was your best friend. And I hope you know in your heart that you were her best friend too. Always know that I'm here for you.

Debbie this is her grandson Bram , what you wrote is touching and thank you for sharing that with everyone . Grandma carol would tell me so many stories even tho I don’t always remember all of them all I know is she also encouraged me to not give up on God at a time in my life I didn’t want anything to do with church or Christian things .  But she showed me a better way and was always there to talk on the phone late at night with me and I could say she was someone I could safely confide in .

It's hard to sum up my sisters life and what she meant to all of us in words but I am going to try my best. I never thought I would see the day when I would have to sit here and write on her obituary page from 3,000 miles away, trying to write through my tears. I always thought I would see her again. I would give anything to give her a kiss on the cheek and hold her hand and wish I would have said all of these things to her. We decorated our Christmas tree in purple and gold. You would have loved it. And if we were in Connecticut you would have made or given us something to put on the tree too. We were hoping that we would get to show you and get to say I love you one more time. But we didn't know your time left on earth was going to be that short. After our parents passed away my sister became our rock. Carol was our guiding light. She was the fortress we thought would never crumble. Carol had such a love for children. Even through her pain, she always taught all of the children in the family, with infinite patience, crafts, cooking, baking and how to knit and crochet, she shared her extensive knowledge on so many different subjects with all of them. And she taught all of us about faith in God and she led so many people to the Lord. And patiently answered all of our questions. I am eternally grateful to her for leading me to the Lord. My husbands family just about fainted when they learned he had given his life to the Lord and was going to church every Sunday. She gave of herself tirelessly. She was the one we turned to in the worst of times and the best of times. She must have had sister magic because she always knew how I felt without me ever having to tell her. My sister was there for Heather and I when we moved back to Connecticut when my husband was dying. We would talk for hours. She was the one who laughed and understood all of the klutzy things we did because she did them too. I would start to tell her a story of something  klutzy I did and she would finish it for me. And I would ask her how she knew and she would say, because it's something I would have done too. She was so much more than just an aunt to her nieces and nephews, she was their best friend and their second mom. She always gave the best advice and was always there to listen and would always make time to talk to us and stand by our sides. You never turned away. No matter how foolish something was that we did, you stood by us. People that met Carol always loved her. She was humble, kind and caring, quick to compliment and encourage people. You were always the one constant in all of our lives. No matter how much pain or heartbreak you were going through, you always were there for us, hiding your own pain to help us get through ours. For everything that you endured in life and  yet you never gave up, made you the bravest person I know. I don't know how you did it. Playing Frogger at 2am was never any where near as much fun with anyone else than it was with you. Or spending so much time trying to figure out who the Mole was. Our lives are better because you were in them  to guide us with your wisdom and love. You taught  all of us what family and unwavering love was. I am so sorry and hurt that we didn't get the chance to say goodbye and that we love you one more time. I know you are no longer in pain, you can dance, and I know you are visiting with our loved ones up in heaven now. But those of us still here on earth are left with a huge hole in our hearts. We are thankful for the countless memories we have with you. And you will live on in our hearts forever. We love you.

Carol was my mentor in finding Jesus Christ. She helped me to find an awesome church with an awesome Pastor. Carol knew I was nervous to attend the church alone, I was raised Catholic and was very nervous to try something new, so she came with me. She was a childhood friend of my mother’s so I have know Carol and her girls all of my life. Carol, thank you for being there for me when I needed God in my life. You brought me to the place I belonged. You will forever be in my heart, thoughts and prayers as well as your family. You will be truly missed but never forgotten.
