Angela Mae (MacKinnon) Orzolek, 75, of Plainville, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Friday, March 15th, 2019, after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was the devoted wife of 54 years to Richard Orzolek. She was born on January 20th, 1944 in Caribou, Maine to the late Frederick and Victoria MacKinnon. She moved to New Britain in 1950. She graduated from Mary Immaculate Academy in 1962. She married Richard in 1964 and moved to Plainville in 1967.
Angela was passionate about her family and her faith. She was a long-time member of St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church. She was a den leader for Cub Scouts, a volunteer at the elementary school library, a lover of books and UConn Women's Basketball. She cherished spending time with all of her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed camping with her children at the state beach parks in Connecticut, instilling a love of the beach and the water in all her children. Later, she discovered a passion for boating. She especially enjoyed spending any free time she had with her husband, relaxing on their boat in Hamburg Cove, Napatree Point or Block Island. She worked for many years as the Accounts Receivable Manager at Allcare Medication Services.
In addition to the love of her life, Richard, she also leaves behind her loving children and grandchildren: a daughter, Tina and her husband Chris Petrone and children, R.J. and Alyssa; a daughter, Patty and her husband Gary Root; a son, Rick and his wife Pam and their children Ryan and Kyle; a daughter, Darlena and her husband Ron Kolpak III and their children Kai, Karlie and Kaden.
Angela was predeceased by her brother Rocky MacKinnon, and sister Carolyn Malady. She is survived by her brother Bernie McKinnon, sisters Rita Agritelly and Theresa King and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial calling hours will be on Thursday, March 21st from 6-8 pm at DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N Main St, Southington. The Funeral Mass will be on Friday, March 22nd at 10 am at St. Matthew's Church, 120 Church Ave., Forestville.
