Ruth Shelmire

RUTH SHELMIRE, Age 80 a resident of Horsham for 60 years. Passed away peacefully on April 21st 2015 at her residence. Ruth was born in Abington hospital PA,daughter of the late William and Beatrice Gilfillian. Ruth was the beloved wife of late Charles,married almost 60 years. She was the loving mother of two daughters Bonnie Day (husband Tom) and Cheryl Shelmire ( Lawrence). She was the dear grandmother of Nicole,Danielle,Jennifer,Tammy,Kevin Jr. Also great grandmother of Angelina,Damir and Aleena.She will be sadly missed by all her family,friends and also her cousin Fred Bauer that was like a brother to her since she was an only child. She was young when her father's work to them to Pittsburg,Ohio and Chicago. She attended Upper Moreland High School. She then met the love of her life Charles. Ruth especially loved being with her family, preparing family dinners on Sundays, tending to the gardens and landscaping. She was a animal lover and enjoyed taking care of all her precious pets. She throughly enjoyed feeding the birds and the groundhog. She also was involved with the Ben Wilson Senior Center in Warminster. She enjoyed going there and talking to everyone. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial service at noon Friday May 29th at Rowen Grant Funeral Home, 659 Street Rd. Southampton. Where friends may call on the family from 10 AM until the time of the service. Her imurnment will be in White Chapel Gardens.
