Robert Fredrick Simon

Born and raised in Fox Chase, Philadelphia, he lived in Southampton for over 57 years.

Mr. Simon was a Letter Carrier for the US Postal Service, Huntingdon Valley Branch, for 33 years, prior to his retirement.

He served the Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. One of his favorite hobbies was playing softball; Robert was a team member on the Gloria Dei Church of Huntingdon Valley, Church Softball Team for 35 years. He was passionate about music, especially country western.

Mr. Simon was pre-deceased by his son, Robert F. Simon Jr. Surviving are; his wife of 63 years Alethe Simon (nee Webster), his daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Thomas Brown of Jamison, PA, his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Nancy Simon of Sudbury, MA, his daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette and William Smith of Gilbertsville, PA, his son, Chuck Simon of Southampton, PA, and his three grandchildren; Christopher J. and Sheila Simon, Brooke and Marc Schommer, and Neva J. Smith.

The family will be receiving visitors from 6-8pm, followed by a memorial service at 8pm, on Monday, 1-4-16, at Gloria Dei Church, 570 Welsh Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gloria Dei Church. Wm. Rowen Grant Funeral Home.
