Robert E. Heron, age 65, was peacefully called home on September 27, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to his proud parents, Joseph E. Heron and Agnes Marie (nee Ginhart). He attended the Hackett Elementary School and then the Edison High School in the Kensington area of Philadelphia. He met his wonderful wife-to- be through a girlfriend of Marie.
Bob loved working with his hands, tinkering, working on cars, dirt bikes, hot rods and building anything. He so loved Marie’s cooking, especially her pierogis, stuffed cabbage/Golumpkis and lots of Kielbasa. Bob loved the simple things in life, like going to an amusement park, vacationing in Mexico and guess what, he was amazed and loved clowns. He has a rather impressive cap gun collection.
Bob is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Marie Heron (nee Isaryk), his loving children: Robert J. Heron, Mark E. Heron (Elizabeth) and Julia H. Heron. He is also survived by eight wonderful grandchildren: Bernadette, Robert Jr., Brittany, Jenna, Noah, Olivia, Julia and Matthew, his great-grandson, Benjamin, brothers, James and Francis and sister, Gloria. Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Agnes and father, Joseph and many siblings.
Relatives and friends are invited to his evening viewing on Thursday , October 4, 2018 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Wm. Rowen Grant Funeral Home, 659 Street Road, Southampton, PA. 18966 and Friday, October 5, 2018 at 10:00 Am followed by his Funeral Mass at Assumption BVM Church, 1900 Meadowbrook Rd., Feasterville, PA 19053. Bob’s interment will be at the St. Mary Ukrainian Cemetery, Elkins Park. Family requests donations, in place of flowers, in Robert’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
