Louise M. Feenan (nee Stoughton) passed away from this life on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Holy Redeemer Hospital in Meadowbrook, after filling this world with her kindness for 78 years. Born and raised in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Carolyn Stoughton. Louise had lived in the Redeemer Village in Huntingdon Valley for the last several years with some of the best friends she ever made.
Mrs. Feenan was a retired crossing guard for the City of Philadelphia, holding down the busy intersection of Frankford Avenue & Clearfield Street in Port Richmond for 25 years. But her greatest ‘job’ was as a Mom and a ‘Mom-Mom’.
Louise was a very loving, caring and selfless person. She showered her love and affection on her family and large circle of friends. Her greatest pleasure was to spend time with her children, her grandchildren, extended family and friends. She was everyone’s greatest cheerleader.
Mrs. Feenan attended Mass every week at the Village and was previously a communicant at St. Hilary of Poitiers, in Rydal, St. Cecilia's Parish and Nativity BVM Parish, both in Philadelphia.
Louise was the beloved and devoted wife of Robert Feenan for almost 38 years before his untimely passing in 1999. She was the devoted mother of Robert H. Feenan (Caroline) of Cheltenham, John Feenan (Heather) of Philadelphia and Susan Feenan (Lawrence Kelsall) of Philadelphia. She was the loving ‘Mom Mom’ of Jason (Candy), Christopher, Brian, Tara & John Robert Feenan; Sophia, Lena & Simone Kelsall, and her Irish grandkids Rachel and Jason Benson and Julie-Anne (Andy) Madigan. She was the over-the-moon great-grandmother of Emma, Lily and Emerson, and her Irish great-grandchildren Jack and Amy Benson; Rebecca, Alan & Leo Madigan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, her brother-in-law James Feenan, sisters-in-law Betty Stoughton & Sally Feenan and nephews James Feenan & James Axe.
She is survived by her beloved brother Henry Stoughton and her nieces and nephews: Theresa, Shawn, Sally Ann Axe, David (David), Wayne (Terry), Chrissy (Carla) on the Feenan side and Henry, Michael (Diana) & Mark (Barbara) on the Stoughton side and numerous great nieces & nephews. She was called ‘Aunt Louise’ by many others as well.
Friends, relatives, and anyone else who had the good fortune of knowing Louise are invited to call on Saturday, August 3rd, 2019 from 9 AM to 11 AM at the Sisters of the Redeemer Chapel at the Provincialate, 521 Moredon Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated immediately afterwards in the same Chapel at 11 AM.
Immediately following the Mass, Louise will be laid to rest alongside her husband and parents at Sunset Memorial Park at 333 County Line Rd, Feasterville, PA 19053 around noon.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Sisters of the Redeemer at the address above.
