Glenn was born on May 19, 1956 in Queens, NY, to parents, Francis X. Smith, Sr. and Doris Mae Smith (Keenan). He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1974. Glenn went on to establish a career in the mortgage industry for over 30 years. His most recent position was Vice President for Equity One, Inc. where he retired after 10 years of employment.
Glenn was an avid sports fan rooting on his Philly teams: Philadelphia Eagles, Flyers and Phillies, but the Eagles were his favorite. He could answer any sports trivia no matter how long ago, thus earning his well-deserved nickname “Cliff Clavin”. He was also a fan of golf, especially the Masters which he always enjoyed watching with his father. These memories were always held dear to his heart. Glenn also enjoyed reading, traveling, spending time with his family and friends and going out to the movies.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Doris Smith, sister, Kathleen Smith, and brother, Jeffrey T. Smith.
Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Amy P. (Partington), brothers, Francis “Frank” X. Smith Jr. and wife Maryann “Mara”, Kenneth Smith, Raymond Smith and wife Pamela Vicik-Smith, Tom Smith and partner Linda, and sisters, Colleen Sheridan and husband John, and Doreen Gates and husband Robert, brother-in-law John Partington and wife Shelley. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews whom he held dearly.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Visitation on Friday, August 23, 2024 from 11:00AM to 12:00PM at Wm. Rowen Grant Funeral Grant Funeral Home. Followed by the Celebration of Life Service at 12:00PM.
