Frances L. Briggs died on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Abington Hospital–Jefferson Health. She was eighty-nine years of age. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Emilio and Frances Biello. Frances had lived in the Gloria Dei Towers in Huntingdon Valley for the past eighteen years. She had previously been a longtime resident of Philadelphia.
Mrs. Briggs was a retired employee of Philco Co. where she assembled circuit boards. She was a Communicant of the Saint Albert the Great Parish in Huntingdon Valley.
Frances was an excellent singer and a member of the choir at Gloria Dei Towers. She enjoyed the arts, painting and ceramics. She was a member of the Red Hats. Fran was an avid reader and loved her mornings in the Shirley Shop with her friends.
Frances was the beloved wife of Vincent F. Briggs for forty-six years before his death in 1995. She was the devoted mother of Robert V. Briggs (Phyllis) of Warrington and the late Francis M. Briggs (survived by his wife, Kathleen Briggs). She was the loving grandmother of Keith Briggs (Colleen), Lauren Briggs, Kathleen McDonald (Greg), Charlene Briggs, Vince Briggs and the late Frankie Briggs; great grandmother of Abigail and Emily McDonald. She is also survived by her sisters, Dolores Simmons and Jean Hill.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, March 29, 2019 from 9:30 to 11 AM at the Lamb Funeral Home, 101 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. Her interment will follow in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Langhorne.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice in Memory of Fran.
