Anthony was born in 1928 to Anthony and Tekla Sadowski in Harrison NJ. He graduated from Harrison High School in June of 1947.
He was a chemical operator early on in his professional career and worked for NOPCO/Diamond Shamrock in North Arlington, NJ. In 1963, he met Mary Grzes, through his good friends, Bob and Toni Green and they wed in February, 1965. They had one daughter, Theresa, and two cats, Mittens and Cleopatra. Anthony lived in Kearny, NJ for most of his life.
Later on in his career he went on to study air conditioning and refrigeration at Lincoln Technical School.
After graduation from Lincoln Technical School, he worked for Hoffman La Roche as an HVAC Technician
for 16 years. After his wife, Mary passed in 1990 and his daughter, Theresa married in 1993, Tony (as he
was known to his friends) and his cat, Cleopatra, retired to Wilmington, North Carolina where he resided
until 2018. Tony loved Wilmington. He bought a new single family house and had an extensive network
of friends including: Millie, Missy, Trey and Kathy and her family.
His main hobbies included skeet shooting at Camp Lejeune, playing tennis and of course, playing golf. Tony also owned a boat named Cleopatra. He often took friends and family out to fish and just enjoy being on the water. He also had his favorite fishing hole near his home where he would get up early in the morning to catch and release trout.
Tony also loved his cats. After Cleopatra passed, he fostered and eventually adopted several cats. His
longest owned of the cats was Midnight, who lived to be 20 years old!
In 2018, Tony moved away from Wilmington, NC to be closer to his daughter and son-in-law, Joe for
health reasons. In his final years he spent time with family, enjoying the holidays and seeing his only
grandchild graduate from college.
Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Tekla (Pisarska) and his wife, Mary (Grzes)
Sadowski.
Anthony is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Joe (Nutley, NJ), granddaughter Jessica
(Los Angeles, CA), sister-in-law, Catherine Fonseca (Grzes), brother-in-law John Grzes and several nieces and nephews.
A mass and interment will be held at a later date. Family and friends will be notified.
