John "Jack" E. Jansen, born in Gully, MN, died peacefully at his home in South Milwaukee, WI, surrounded by his family. Jack is survived by his spouse of 53 years, Maxine Jansen (nee Champagne) and their four children; Mark O'Connor, Linda Yakich, James, and Patricia; eight grandchildren: Angela, Steven, Mark Jr., Christopher, Brandon, Natalie, Hayley and Hunter as well as eight great-grandchildren and two cherished Chihuahuas, Rex and Chico. Jack and Maxine were also the foster parents to numerous children and adults for over 34 years.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents George and Evelyn Jansen, sister Helen (Ross) Brawders and brother Norbert (Audrey) Jansen. He is further survived by his siblings: Shirley (Glenn) Englestad, Harvey (Ida) Jansen, Carol (Jack) Brusoe, Jan (Howard) McDonough, Daniel (Carol) Jansen, Ruth (Pat) Baune and many nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and friends.
Jack proudly served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Europe in 1954. Following his tour in the Armed Forces, Jack settled in Milwaukee and began a long and distinguished career as a Master Welder with Bucyrus-Erie for over 40 years.
Jack enjoyed watching Nascar and all of the Packers and Brewer games, metal fabrication, auto restoration, a cold beer, and most of all spending time with family and friends.
In honoring Jack's final wishes, the family is holding a private burial. The family expresses its gratitude for the support, love and prayers that have been given to Jack and the family during his final days.
