We were so sad to hear of the passing of Aunt Harriet.  In past years we enjoyed her phone calls at Christmas time to catch up on the family news.  She was such a warm, kind person.  She made you feel good just being around her, because she always had a smile and a positive comment.  I know her family will miss her greatly, and we extend our sympathies to them. My husband, Ed, found the notice online.  My connection with the Rouse Family  goes back 50+ years when we were next door neighbors. In Springfield, IL.  My mother had died when I was fifteen.  Harriet...even with the responsibilities of parenting her large family...always reached out to me.  I vividly remember her putting the kids to bed and then inviting me over to her home and helping me with a sewing project.  Harriet was a generous and selfless human being who certainly was a positive influence  in the lives of so many.

I have lost a dear friend, partner and Mother. My Mom will always be in my heart and in my soul ! It will be hard not having her to go visit , listen to music with and confied in her for the many problems that life has to offer us . I know I have many brothers and sisters left to take over that job now and love all of them dearly ! I have peace in my heart knowing she is now with my Dad and my Sister Edith.
