Samuel Harold Crosby, age 77, a long-time resident of South Gate, has passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Lynwood. He was born on January 18, 1945, in Alamogordo, New Mexico to Harold Crosby and Lupe Maese. Sam was employed with the City of South Gate and was an active member of Saint Helen’s Catholic Church. Sam was one of the Raider’s biggest fans. He even made sure his vehicles were in their colors! So, it’s only right that he goes in fashion. In addition to his Raiders, he loved hitting the road on his motorcycle. Ride on SILVER FOX! You will be missed!
Survivors include his loving wife Maria Villareal Crosby; five children, Denise Crosby, Alice Crosby Foch, Carmen Crosby Dones, Michael Crosby and Diana Marquez. He is survived by his loving grandchildren Samantha Mendoza, Brittney Foch, Melissa Foch, David Dones, Daniel Dones, Justin Dones, Jessica Crosby, Michael Crosby, Mia Crosby, Samuel Crosby, Isaac Campos, Prince Campos, and London Campos. Other surviving nieces and nephews include Eddie Crosby Jr, Steven Crosby, Jesse Crosby, and Melissa Crosby. Sam was preceded in death by his loving mother Lupe Maese; a son Samuel Crosby Jr and a brother, Edward Crosby.
Visitation for Sam will begin at 5PM-9pm Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Funeraria del Angel, 8665 California Ave. South Gate, CA. 90280, Where the rosary will be held. Mass will be held the next day on Friday, March 4, 2022 at Saint Helen’s Catholic Church where the Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for 9:30 AM Concluding Service and Interment will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery 966 North Potrero Grande Dr, Montebello CA 90640.
Serving as casket bearers will be his family and friends.
