Patsy G. Camuso of South Dennis, MA, died peacefully Thursday, February 15th, 2023, after a short stay at Rosewood Manor in Harwich, MA. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 70 years, Ann (Martinko). In 1924 Patsy was born and raised in East Boston to Italian immigrants Elga (Ferrente) and Pasquale Camuso. He was born the sixth of their seven children; all predeceased him. Patsy graduated from Boston Latin at age 16 and received an associate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northeast University. Returning from service in the Navy, he found work at Lionel Trains in New Jersey, where he met the love of his life, Ann. They raised their three children in Dedham, MA. Co-owner of Richard D Dane Corp in Everett, MA, he designed automated machinery for international companies like American Optical and Gillette. They would summer in their cottage on the Cape since 1960 before purchasing their South Dennis home on Bass River to reside full time. Patsy’s warm and infectious sense of humor endeared him to all whose paths he crossed. Known for his sharp wit, Pat never lost his spunk or ability to tell you exactly how he felt about a subject. In addition to his positive attitude, Patsy was a talented poet. No event was too simple to inspire his prose; he wrote poems inspired by family milestones, politics, and many Red Sox wins. A devout catholic and a lifelong learner, Patsy trained many peers by volunteering with Computers for Seniors for over ten years. He purchased his latest iPhone just months before he passed.
He is survived by his children Paul (wife Cheryl) Camuso of Ormand Beach, FL Peter (wife Diane) Camuso of Norwood, MA, and Jane (decs. husband John) Donlan of Brewster, MA; his grandchildren Jennifer Camuso (husband Jerry Drummey) of Woburn, MA; Robert Camuso (spouse Nicole Betz) of Blackstone, MA; John (wife Kristina) Donlan of Northampton, MA; Alexander (wife Ellinor Walters) Donlan of Newport, RI; and Christopher Donlan of Newport, RI.
