Patricia Boan Rothermel

Born in Irvington, New Jersey, in 1926, Pat was the daughter of Elmer Wain Boan and Helen Prentiss Albee Boan. She graduated from Irvington High School in 1944, and earned a B.A. in Fine Art from Skidmore College in 1948 and an M.A.T. from Harvard University in 1969. She taught art in Summit, New Jersey, and elementary school in Millburn, New Jersey for many years. Pat retired in the late 1980s, and shortly thereafter moved to her summer home on Cape Cod. She participated in many volunteer activities, including many years of service on the Old Kings Highway Committee of Dennis, and enjoyed painting, tennis, swimming, gardening, reading and spending time with her family, friends and pets.

Pat was predeceased by her parents, her ex-husband, Alan Rothermel, and her companion of many years, George Reisch. She is survived by daughters Helen (Penny) Rothermel of Schenectady, New York, and Sarah Rothermel of East Dennis, grandson Alan Rothermel of Poughkeepsie, New York, daughter-in-law Cynthia Babb, Alan’s fiancée, Shannon Gilhuly, and Pat’s beloved granddog, Wavey.
