Mary Ann Berg

Mary Ann (Lovegren) Berg, 77, died peacefully on March 6, 2019 at Cape Cod Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Robert Berg with whom she shared many years of marriage.

Born in Kingston, NY, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Rita (Long) Lovegren. Mary resided in Huntington, CT for many years until she and Robert moved to South Dennis in 2001. Prior to settling on the Cape, she enjoyed spending summers on Cape Cod beaches for over 30 years. Mary devoted her career to raising and caring for her family.

She enjoyed going out to dinner and finding new restaurants to try. Her most cherished time was spent surrounded by her family, particularly her husband, children, and grandchildren. Mary volunteered at the Dennis Memorial Library for many years.

In addition to her husband, Mary is survived and will be deeply missed by her two children, Susan Brown and her husband Philip of CT, and Robert A. Berg and his wife Lynne of CO; as well as four grandchildren, Dillon and Bryan Gannon, and Kate and Matthew Berg.

Mary was predeceased by her granddaughter, Meghan Gannon; and her siblings, Lillian and Ronald Lovegren.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, March 11th from 4 to 7 p.m. at Doane Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 729 Rt. 134, South Dennis. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 12th at 12 Noon at Dennis Union Church located on 713 Main St, Dennis, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s name to the Dennis Memorial Library, 1020 Old Bass River Rd, Dennis, MA 02638.
