Marjorie E. (Crowell) Murphy, 78, of South Dennis passed away on August 26, 2021 at her home with her family by her side. She was born on September 26, 1942 in Hyannis, Massachusetts. She was the devoted daughter of Albert H. Crowell and Lilian E. (Megathin) Crowell. She was also the beloved sister to Charles A. Crowell, sister in-law Ellen, and Carolyn (Crowell) Culhane, brother in-law Edward.
Marjorie married her husband Ronald Murphy on August 16, 1968 and they recently celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary. She is survived by her loving children which include her daughter Paige (Murphy) Brown, son-in-law Edward, son Todd Murphy, step-son Christopher Roberts and step daughter-in-law Natalie.
Marge is the cherished Nana to Cody, Conner, Christopher, Brittany, Rachael, Natalie, Sawyer, Hunter, Ali, Frankie, and Shark. Most recently Marge was blessed with her first great grandchild, Blakely Mae. She adored her grandchildren and each of them held a special place in her heart.
A life-long resident of Dennis and a true “Cape Codder” (13th generation), Marge was a loving daughter, wife, sister and mother. She spent her early years participating in many athletic activities, especially basketball during high school. She enjoyed helping her parents with the family business and later graduated from cosmetology school becoming a hairstylist. Lastly she was employed with International Fund For Animal Welfare for many years and retired in 2006.
She loved spending time traveling with her family enjoying ski trips, cruising the Caribbean, and visiting Hawaii to see her grandchildren grow. Her greatest love was to be actively involved with her grandchildren, attending their countless school events and sporting activities. They could not have had a bigger fan!
Marge loved to host family celebrations and have wonderful holiday parties with many close friends. She loved playing card games, shopping with her friends and chatting on the phone with all of her loved-ones. She generously offered a shoulder to cry on and a safe place to land. She will be dearly remembered!
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be donated in Majorie’s name to the VNA of Cape Cod, 255 Independence Drive, Hyannis, MA 02601 with special appreciation to Lisa Burns.
