June F. Gallant, 85, died Sunday, June 14, 2020 at Cape Cod Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Roland A. Gallant with whom she shared many loving years of marriage until his passing in 2001.
Born in Melrose on June 8, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Doris Snow. June was raised in Malden and moved to East Dennis as a teenager. She graduated from the former Dennis High School with the Class of 1953.
June was employed as a Merchandiser at F.W. Woolworth for over 20 years. She devoted much of her time to the Town of Brewster from working the polls and town meetings, to volunteering at the Senior Center. June was recognized by the Town of Brewster for 50 dedicated years of service.
Prior to starting a family of their own, June and her husband Roland were Den Leaders for the Boy Scouts. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing Bingo and Mahjong. June also liked to watch and feed birds, and observe the boats on Sesuit Harbor. Above all, June’s most cherished time was spent surrounded by her family.
June is survived and will be deeply missed by her two daughters, Cindy Coulter of Brewster, and Brenda Evans and her husband Larry of Centerville; four grandchildren, Kevin Coulter and his wife Ashley of Brewster, Amber Coulter of Brewster, Michael Courtney of Plymouth, and Nicole Courtney of Quincy; and four great-grandchildren, Aundrea, Jayson, and Tucker Coulter of Brewster, and Elliot Perry of Sagamore.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, June 19th from 4 to 7 p.m. at Doane Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 729 Rt. 134, South Dennis. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, face masks will be required and social distancing will be enforced. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 20th at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of the Cape Church, 468 Stony Brook Rd., Brewster. Burial will take place privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in June’s name to “Friends of Brewster Elders" or to the Brewster Council on Aging.
