He was the beloved son of Libby and John Thurston (deceased), and brother of Lucia Fritz of Bethlehem, CT (deceased), Jocelyn Serbe of Evanston, IL, and Tina Miller or Alameda, CA and 3 nieces and 4 nephews.
John lived in Fairfield, CT, went to the Eaglebrook School, Mount Hermon School, and high school on Cape Cod. Because of John's mental illness he had a difficult life. He spent the last 25 years in a Massachusetts Dept. of Mental Health residence in Lakeville, MA. He led a full and successful life there and was well loved. He will be dearly missed.
A graveside service will be held at Quivet Neck Cemetery, South St., East Dennis, on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 2:00 PM.
Donations in John's memory may be made to the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill.
